What does it mean to find moments of beauty when sleep is difficult to come by? Drawing on a decade of insomnia, Adam Chamy’s Twilight and Other Stories reframes night and wakefulness at odd hours as a bedtime story-paintings exploring wonder, time, and the otherworldly. Vibrant colors and expressive, contrasting tones take cues from the changing quality of light as day moves into night and waking gives way to sleep. Found and often gossamer materials evoke unreliable memories, foggy states of consciousness, and the illusory moments between sleeping and waking. The resulting works invite viewers into dreamlike spaces of wonder, uncertainty, and abandon.
